Cooperative Care
The vet doesn’t have to be a dreaded place for you or your dog! Our Cooperative Care: Couch to Clinic course covers practical skills to help prevent fear, anxiety and stress while caring for your pup.
The online class is LIVE and interactive, with a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on working with your dog in real time. You will have the opportunity to get feedback from your instructor, watch other teams work and troubleshoot, and ask questions about specific challenges you are facing.
Don’t wait until your dog is having a hard time; teach them cooperative skills early for a lifetime of easy and stress-free vet visits!

How to teach multiple types of “Start Button” behaviors used in cooperative care
Communicating effectively with your veterinary team and advocating for your dog as needed
Introducing your dog to common grooming and veterinary tools
Reading your dog’s body language to gauge subtle signs of FAS (fear, anxiety, and stress)

Resources
After each class, you will receive a follow-up email with the class recording, presentation materials, and step-by-step instructions for each exercise covered. This email will also contain links to additional resources, purchasable items, Clickstart’s supportive services and more.
Supportive Services
Each class comes with simple homework assignments that are designed to accelerate your progress. You will have opportunities to submit video assignments for feedback from your instructor weekly.
Class Setup
Class begins with a LIVE lecture and presentation, during which you’re welcome to interrupt with your questions. You will then have a chance to work on camera with your dog for immediate feedback to ensure you’re practicing the skills correctly throughout the week.
Trainer Qualifications
This class is taught by Clickstart's co-founder, certified Fear Free practitioner and certified Behavior Consultant, Liv Healy. With over 13 years of professional training experience, Liv is proficient in training cooperative care procedures for both dogs and cats. They are especially passionate about making cooperative care training accessible and realistic for pet parents like you!

Yes! You can start ASAP with a Behavior Evaluation while you wait for your Cooperative Care class to start.

Yes! There are lots of reasons we begin training on Zoom. There is a lot of information to cover that is best presented visually. Your dog deserves a chance to work on new skills in the comfort of their living room (before testing them around their triggers!). Lastly, working together in person will go much more smoothly and be much more productive with this class under your belt.

The honest answer is “it depends”! Dogs with a lengthy history of veterinary trauma may need weeks, months, or even years of support. Our goal with this class is to arm you with the skills and knowledge to minimize stress and make informed decisions about your pet’s care.
