Paw Scouts

Taste the wild with this adventure dog sampler class! We’ll be introducing you and your dog to paddle boarding, kayaking, camping and all the training that goes into enjoying your time outdoors together.

Our experienced trainers will give you practical, realistic training exercises to ensure fun and safe outings in the great outdoors. Graduates of our Paw Scouts class can join our one-of-a-kind field trips to put their hiking, camping, SUP and off-leash adventure skills to the test.

Age Range:

  • 12 months+

Prerequisites:

  • High School

Package Details:

  • 3 classes, 1 hr each - $250

  • 1 complimentary Paw Scouts Field Trip (2+ hrs)

What We Cover:

  • Introduction to adventure gear including tents, paddle boards, kayaks, tethers, and fire pits.

  • Confidence building games around novel terrain, water, and distractions.

  • Teaching an emergency whistle recall (away from wildlife odors and moving distractions).

  • Hiking skills for navigating rough terrain, other hikers, and wildlife safely.

  • Building relaxed behaviors in the car, tent, or around the campground.

  • Expert management tips to keep you and your dog safe!

Resources

After each class, you will receive a follow-up email with the class recording, presentation materials, and step-by-step instructions for each exercise covered. This email will also contain links to additional resources, purchasable items, Clickstart’s supportive services and more.

Supportive Services

Each class comes with simple homework assignments that are designed to accelerate your progress. You will have opportunities to submit video assignments for feedback from your instructors weekly.

Trainer Qualifications

This class is co-taught by Clickstart founders Cassie & Liv! Enjoy the expertise of a combined 20+ years of experience camping, paddle boarding, biking, hiking and adventuring with dogs with a positive reinforcement foundation.


FAQs

  • This is designed as an intro class for dogs and owners alike! We will cover all of the necessary foundational and safety skills to help you and your dog have a memorable first adventure together. You will be able to select the Paw Scout field trip(s) that you feel will best suit you and your dog.

  • Yes! Each class will include specific off leash skills including recalls, check ins, and navigating distractions. In class your dog will have opportunities to work indoors off leash, outdoors on a long line, and fully off leash in large natural spaces on our special Paw Scouts field trip.

  • We will be offering four different types of field trips designed to cater to hiking, camping, water sports, or off leash adventures. You can select the field trip(s) that you feel you and your dog will enjoy the most together! Specific locations will be discussed during class.
