AKC Rally
Take your teamwork to the next level with this fun dog sport that blends traditional obedience, trick training, and obstacles!
The sport of AKC Rally, sometimes called Rally Obedience or Rally-O, involves you and your dog working together to navigate a course of 10-20 signs. Each sign has instructions for which skill to perform, and all signs are performed in order as you make your way through the course. Rally is designed to showcase traditional obedience skills without the pressure of a competition obedience environment. This sport is about teamwork, enthusiasm, and working through challenges with your dog right at your side.

Trainer Qualifications
This class is taught by Lia Riatt, owner of Fox Run Play & Train in San Diego. Lia has years of experience competing in rally and teaching classes on her very own sport field.
About Lia:
“I started my agility journey in 2009 in Orange County where I enjoyed taking classes and competing in AKC agility trials. In 2015 my husband and I moved to San Diego County. We purchased a wonderful home in Escondido with plenty of room for our dogs to play and train. Then in 2018, I established Fox Run Play and Train at our property and officially started my agility teaching career.
I currently have four amazing dogs: Hazel (Italian Greyhound), Chacho (Long Coat Chihuahua), Benson (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever) and Cammille (Italian Greyhound). They all love to train and are happy to help me teach classes.
In addition to local agility trials, I have attended two national agility events. In 2024, I attended the AKC National Agility Championship in Tulsa with Henrik my Toller. Last December, Hazel and I earned an invitation to the AKC Agility Invitational in Orlando. We were invited again this year as the third-ranked Italian Greyhound in the country for 2026. We will be Orlando bound in December!”

This class is designed for dogs who are both people and dog friendly. The way class is set up will involve close proximities and visual exposure to other dogs and people.
Please pursue private coaching if your dog is reactive, fearful, or aggressive.

This class is designed to prepare you and your dog for the Novice level of AKC Rally! Students will have the opportunity to run through and submit a Virtual AKC Rally Novice Course.
